David has regularly been named in a variety of peer review surveys as one of the top matrimonial attorneys in New York. He has been listed for several years as among "The Best Lawyers in America" and has received the highest peer rating for both competence and ethics ('AV') by the well-respected Martindale-Hubbell directory of attorneys. Most recently he was named one of the "Top 100 Lawyers" in New York by Super Lawyers, a distinction shared by only three other matrimonial lawyers.

David was admitted to the bar in 1975 after graduating cum laude from Brooklyn Law School where he was an editor of the Law Review. He served a two year clerkship with the Hon. William C. Conner of the United States District Court before joining the litigation department at one ofNew York City's most prestigious law firms. In 1983, David joined forces with Norman Sheresky who had already established himself as one of the nation's most respected divorce lawyers. David has devoted his professional life to the practice of family law ever since.

Although an experienced, respected trial lawyer, David is proud of his reputation as a tough, yet honest negotiator who recognizes that whenever possible, disputes should be resolved through hard bargaining, and that litigation should be viewed as a last resort.
David is a member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the American Bar Association, Association of the Bar of the City ofNew York, New York County Lawyers Association and the New York State Bar Association. He is a former Adjunct Assistant Professor at Brooklyn Law School. He has served on the Board of Managers of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and as a Vice President.

David is a member of the Matrimonial Practice Advisory Committee chaired by the Hon. Sharon S. Townsend, Vice Dean for Family and Matrimonial Law. Formerly, David served as a member on the New York State Courts Committee on Matrimonial Practice, chaired by the Hon. Jacqueline W. Silbermann, the then Statewide Deputy Chief Administrative Judge for Matrimonial Matters. As a committee member, David organized seminars and lectured on such issues as valuation, equitable distribution, and maintenance to judges and their staffs.

David is also a frequent lecturer at professional seminars and continuing legal education courses. Among the organizations that have asked him to appear are the New York State Office of Court Administration, the New York State Judicial Institute, the Women's Bar Association, the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the American Society of Appraisers, the Association of Divorce 'Financial Planners, the Appellate Division, First Department of the Supreme Court of the State ofNew York, the Practicing Law Institute and the New York City, County and State Bar Associations.

David and his wife, Inette, live in Westchester County. They have a daughter and a son.
