Schoonmaker, George & Colin, P.C. practices matrimonial and family law. Members of the firm include nationally recognized attorneys in those fields as well as leaders of the Connecticut and American Bar Associations and the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.

The firm handles complex financial and tax matters in the family law field as well as matters involving child custody litigation, proceedings to establish and/or modify parenting plans, and premarital agreements. This includes cases involving electronic evidence and computer discovery. For example, Schoonmaker, George & Colin, P.C. recently served as lead trial counsel for the successful father in what is reportedly the longest child custody trial in United States history. Our attorneys direct all of their talents, skills, and energy towards providing high quality representation for our clients in the family law field.

Ms. Blomberg is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, having been inducted in October 2009. She received her B.A. from University of Pennsylvania in 1994 and received her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 1997. She is admitted to practice in the States of New York and Connecticut, as well as the United States Supreme Court in America. In 1997, she joined the matrimonial department of Tenzer, Greenblatt LLP in New York City practicing both in New York and Connecticut. In June 1999, she joined the firm of Schoonmaker, George & Colin, P.C. as an associate, and became a partner in January 2006. She has served as the Chair of the American Bar Association's Young Lawyer's Family Law Section and also has served as the Co-Chair of the Connecticut Bar Association's Young Lawyer's Family Law Section. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Fairfield County Bar Association and served as the Co-Chair of that Association's Family Law Section. She serves the Connecticut Superior Court as a Special Master in family cases including at the Regional Family Trial docket in Middletown (where contested child custody cases are heard) and as a court-appointed attorney and Guardian Ad Litem for children in contested custody cases. She is the past President of the Connecticut Chapter of the Fordham University School of Law Alumni Association. Ms. Blomberg has published articles in national and statewide family law publications including The American Journal of Family Law, "Unconscionability: the Heart of the Premarital Agreement Act" and the Connecticut Law Tribune, "Putting Your Cards on the Table." Ms. Blomberg was recently named as a Rising Star in all of New England in Super Lawyers Magazine.
