She is the past Chair and current member of the Alzheimer's Association, Long Island Chapter, Legal Committee. Judith B. Judy Raskin earned a B.A. degree from Alfred University and a Master of Science degree from Brooklyn College. Mrs. Raskin taught science in the public schools and raised a family before entering law school and receiving a Juris Doctor degree from Hofstra Law School in 1986.

As part of the legal community concerned with issues affecting the elderly, Judy Raskin maintains membership in the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Inc. (a professional association of attorneys concerned with improving the availability and delivery of legal services to the elderly population); the New York State Bar Association where she is a member of the Elder Law Section and the Trusts and Estates Law Section; and the Nassau County Bar Association where she is a member of the Elder Law, Social Services and Health Advocacy Committee, the Surrogate's Trusts and Estates Committee, and the Tax Law Committee. She is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Nassau County, Inc.

Mrs. Raskin was a co-founder of the Gerontology Professionals of Long Island, Nassau Chapter and served as its president. She writes a regular column for the Elder Law Attorney, the newsletter of the Elder Law Section of the New York State Bar Association. She has been honored by the Visiting Nurse Association and the Alzheimer's Association, Long Island Chapter.

Ms. Raskin shares her knowledge with community groups and professional organizations. She has appeared on radio and television and served as a workshop leader and lecturer for the New York State Bar Association as well as numerous other professional and community groups.
