Ms. Stone received a Bachelor of Arts in English from SUNY at Stony Brook in 1989. She received a Juris Doctor degree from Duquesne University School of Law in 1993. Duquesne University , located in Pittsburgh , PA , was rated among the top 5% of the Best Values in education in Money Magazine.

Ms. Stone passed the New York and New Jersey Bar examinations on the first try, back in 1993. She is admitted to practice law in the State and Federal Courts in New York and New Jersey . For Social Security cases, she is authorized to represent people in all 50 states.

Ms. Stone worked for the Social Security Administration, Office of Hearings and Appeals from 1994 to 1999. She held various positions there, including Staff Attorney, Adjudication Officer and Supervisory Staff Attorney. Since 1999, Ms. Stone has represented people in claims for Social Security Disability (SSD), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Long Term Disability, Workers' Compensation and Bankruptcy.
