Ellyn S. Kravitz is a partner in the law firm of Littman Krooks LLP, with offices in New York City, White Plains, and Fishkill. She specializes in elder law, estate planning, estate administration, special needs planning, and veterans’ benefits. Ellyn is an authority on issues affecting adults and children with disabilities, our senior population, and military veterans.
Ellyn is certified as an elder law attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation and is a member of the New York State, Westchester County, and Nassau County Bar Associations. She was named as a 2009 “New York Super Lawyer†by Law & Politics magazine. She has been accredited by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to present and prosecute claims for veterans’ benefits. She is also a member of the Estate Planning Council of New York City, Inc.
She is a member of the executive committee of the Elder Law Section of the New York State Bar Association and the current vice chair of the Medicaid Committee. She was former co-chair of the Estate and Tax Committee, and former chair of the Legal Education Committee and Health Care Committee. She serves as vice chair of the Elder Law Committee of the Westchester County Bar Association.
Ellyn is a member and former co-chair of the Legal Advisory Board of the Long Island Alzheimer’s Foundation. She serves on the Legal Advisory Committee of the Evelyn Frank Legal Resources Program of Selfhelp Community Services, Inc. She also serves on the Benefit Committee of the Kellner Family Pediatric Liver Disease Foundation.
Ellyn is an adjunct professor at New York University, where she teaches courses on elder law. She is a frequent presenter to both consumer and professional groups and has provided input to state and national programs addressing legal, financial and other related matters involving persons with disabilities and our senior population.
Ellyn received her Juris Doctor degree from the New England School of Law and her LLM in estate planning from the University of Miami. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan.
